what happened to old moderators
i've been around this forum for quite a while. i've noticed that a lot of moderators left... what happened to them? did they get demoted, banned or they simply don't visit the forum any longer....

Re: what happened to old moderators
There are all kinds of reasons people drift away from forums. Interests change, real life intervenes, burnout happens. Moderators are no different than any other forum member.mattbiernat wrote:i've been around this forum for quite a while. i've noticed that a lot of moderators left... what happened to them? did they get demoted, banned or they simply don't visit the forum any longer....
No moderator has been banned or demoted, but even if they had, it would be a private matter and not likely to be discussed openly.

That's rather jawdropping!GomJabbar wrote:All indications are, that they just moved on - usually without a word.
If one has a position of responsibility, rather than being "just" a user, I'm aghast that one wouldn't formally let the Powers That Be know that he or she was no longer going to perform those duties.
I can't imagine doing that for organizations in which I have some position.

Re: what happened to old moderators
okay thanks for clearing this up. i was just wondering. im surprised to see so many people gone over the years...
Most of the time they've told Bill they're going to drop out for a while or for good because of (insert reason here). In a few instances, they never made it back. In a very few cases, they just disappeared.ArtShapiro wrote:If one has a position of responsibility, rather than being "just" a user, I'm aghast that one wouldn't formally let the Powers That Be know that he or she was no longer going to perform those duties.
