T40 legitimate buy?

#1 Post by mval » Sat Jan 29, 2005 11:36 pm

I recently bought a corporate pre-owned T40 from a legitimate computer shop in my place. How could I possibly know that this is a not a "hot item"? Can I avail the warranty status which run until Dec.2006? Do I need any document aside from sales receipt/shop warranty document from the seller? By the way passwords are not enabled. Thanks for your help.

Unless there is any sort of identification on the laptop and/or some sort of security device/software/measure, there really is not too many ways. If this is something you are really concerned about, you could call the local Police department and ask if any similar laptops have been stolen recently, but that is likely to arouse suspicion.

I don't find any security features as such. In fact all passwords are not enabled. Thanks for your suggestion.

In Riyadh the chances of it being "hot" can be somewhat likely.
