No computer swap meets or shows near you AJ?

Last one I was at they had boxes of loose USB cables for $.50 each.

There's always Radio Shack.

Hi James:
I didnt think Radio Shack would carry such items. I am not worried so much about the USB cable as I am about the fittings in the back that the HDD plugs into, that are for a HDD and not a CDROM Drive.

AJ,

IDE = IDE, doesn't matter if it's HD, CD or DVD.

Yep! My first USB1.1 external 3.5" HD case was an old Sony Spressa external CD burner in which the CD had died.

I simply replaced the burner with a spare desktop HD and it worked just fine. Painfully slow, but fine.

I've long ago replaced that with a USB2.0 case, but only because USB1.1 was so slow, not because there was any problem getting it to work.

James
