Anyone with Zenders R32 1802 modded bios?

#1 Post by cheeky2 » Wed Dec 30, 2009 3:58 am

Hi.
Does anyone have Zenders modified bios for the R32 Thinkpad?
If so can they pm me or post a link to it?

Also what wireless cards does it work with? I have a selection of a three mini pci cards so hopefully won of them will be suitable :?:

As far as i can see there are no working links for the bios, but i may have missed something?

I look forward to hearing from you so that i can get an internal wireless card working :)

Thanks in advance for any help 8)

Check your PM for a link.
All miniPCI cards with 802.11a and/or b and/or g should work, notably Intel 2200b/g and Intel 2915b/g.
Some older cards only have the slower 802.11b rather than b/g, but should also work.
You'll need antennae for the wifi card, unless they are already built in.

Thanks RealBlackStuff very much indeed for the link i have successfully updated the bios and I am now using the unbranded broadcom b/g wireless mini pci card

Fortunatly for me the wireless aerials were tucked inside a clear plastic type envelope :)

So I would like to thank Zender for all his hard work and the other members on this forum

Have a wonderful New Year

Can I just say ditto and that will work?

I need me a R32 modified bios.

This may be a repeat as well... but why is it that there are so many other solutions for the 1802 error yet only flashing your bios works for the R32? Just curious.

I am eternally grateful to zender and the good fortune of stumbling upon this forum. It appears to be a gold mine for all of my r32 needs.
Thank you again

R32 was not made by IBM. Acer built it (poorly) under license, with all its inherent problems...

That sounds about right............

Sorted 1802 thanks to Zenders modded BIOS now got screen troubles with display fading & garbled text. Tried a new screen cable which I had hanging around but no, that would just be way to easy! :|

Think either the display or the graphics chip must be playing up now

You need to get another (working) CD or DVD drive.
