which 8 cells battery for 41 ?

#1 Post by vladis » Thu Jan 28, 2010 10:48 am

Hi,

I am looking for some spare x41 8 cells battery. Concrete on ebay, but there are a lot of 8 cells ... most of them are not original lenovo. What do you think about that chinaese batteryes from HK for ex.

btw: my current 8 cells battery ( original one ) is 4400 mAh, but I have seen 5200 mAh batteryes too. Is there any batteryes with eaven bigger capacity ?

I don´t want to buy original one in our local shop because the price is bigger than I paid for my x41 :)

cheers

I bought one of the batteries from HK/China. It is junk. Couldn't get my money back. Avoid eBay seller called "pokerbridge". The name should have been a warning to me... I took the gamble and lost!

Harryc: no I dont, I know about that outlet store, good price, but postage from USA to my country is not cheap :(

some time ago, when I was using T23 I bought battery from HK ( ebay ), it was a junk too. Seller told me that I have probably bad piece with wrong reseted electronics ...

so do you think that I should rather buy an original one ?

FYI:
I just bought one of the Lenovo outlet batteries for my X41T (just over a week ago). I am in the US, so shipping was free. It took about a week to get here (not bad, considering), and when it arrived, I checked it out in Power Manager. It was manufactured in March of 2009 (less than a year old), had never been used before I installed it, and actually shows > 100% of the stated capacity (67.39 Wh of 64.8 Wh design capacity).

I'd definitely go for one of the outlet batteries over an unknown 3rd party, even if I had to pay extra for shipping.

Hope this helps.

I've got a 5200mAh 8-cell for my X40 that I purchased from eBay.

It is slightly bigger than the original IBM 8-cell packs, but it's worth it: I can easily get 6 hours on a charge -- more if I'm willing to do some extra tweaking.

I've got no complaints whatsoever.

I bought mine from denaq, www.denaq.com (manufacture site), they sell through ebay and stuff and I did not have any issue returning (exchange) battery for my x41

ThinkRob: can you post me link on that battery on ebay, or name of the seller ?

btw: is battery manager showing you right time left ? ( for ex. it will show that you have 2 hours left and then on 0 % it is running next 2 hours )

The seller's name was supermart168.

No idea. I've never used Windows on any of my ThinkPads, so I don't have a "battery manager". :) I can report that the battery appears to report its charge time correctly via ACPI and tp-smapi.
