Fan Noise

#1 Post by superdorkman » Wed Feb 17, 2010 11:06 am

Could anyone who owns one of these units comment on fan noise?
I'm considering purchasing one, but am hesitant as I'm very sensitive to fan noise.
Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't call it noisy, but it's definitely more audible than - say - the X60s' fan. It also runs far more often. I haven't tried any of the fan control utilities, just used it with the default. I guess it's a case of what you pay is what you get.

Has it got the classic rubbery finish on the case? Bit of a pity if it does not.

No, smooth finish. Just like the 560 and the 570, if memory serves.

Fan noise is very silent, the loudest noise this machine makes is the cpu clicking or whining it makes when in use... not really an issue and you can't hear this noise farther than 18 inches.

I have an ssd installed, so i can't comment on HDD noise.
