i have the lcd part no Hitachi Type TX36D37VCICAA , ibm part 11p8292 fru 11p8297.
anyone help me to make sure it is indeed the screen.

Re: ibm t30 lcd
This one also works: XGA, Samsung LTN141XE-L01, IBM P/N 11P8289, FRU 11P8294
AFAIK the R40 (or any other type) LCDs will not work in a T30.
Yellow-green color rather indicates a failing graphics processor.
FYI: GPUs have an analog part for external VGA, and an internal digital part for the LCD.
One can still work while the other does not.
Usually it's the digital/internal part that conks out first (as is likely the case in your T30).

Re: ibm t30 lcd
thx for the very usefull help.
is there anyway to replace the graphics processor,or is that a real difficult job?
seems like a good job i never just brought another screen then.

Re: ibm t30 lcd
Graphics processors are not replaceable. The repair is either replace the system board, or have the GPU resoldered to the board professionally. Neither of which is very cost effective for a machine as old as the T30, IMHO.
Collection = T500 - R400 - X300 - X200 - T61 (14" WXGA+) - T61 (14.1" SXGA+) - T60 (15" SXGA+) - X40 - T43p - T43 - T42p - A30P - 600E
