DVI change in T42's

#1 Post by jjfcpa » Thu Jun 10, 2004 2:13 pm

I just wanted to let everyone know that the T42's do support pass through DVI using the port replicator with the ATI card. Prior to the T42, you HAD to purchase the T41p or T40p (the one with the Fire GL card) in order to get pass thru DVI.

I just rec'd a T42 2379DXU with the ATI card and hooked it up to my port replicator and voila... DVI pass thru. This is a very nice change and one IBM needed to make in order to compete with Dell, HP.

I have T40 and run Samsung 173P via DVI (amazing monitor by the way). All T4x support DVI through port replicator.
