Intel SSD 510 "Emcrest" with 6 Gbps SATA interface launched

#1 Post by Johan » Tue Mar 01, 2011 2:01 am

The 3rd generation 34nm Intel 2.5" SATA SSD's, codenamed "Emcrest", has (finally!) been officially launched; see Intel Announces Next in Solid-State Drive Line Up: Intel® SSD 510 Series Featuring Super-Fast 6Gbps SATA Throughput.

Update: I just discovered that there's already a review posted at the StorageReview site: Intel SSD 510 Review (250 GB).

Let's hope that this means that the previous, 2nd generation, e.g. X25-M G2, will drop in price! :-)

Considering that they seem to be using the same 34nm NAND flash memory you better not hold your breath ;-)
