Struggling with dock compatibility

Hi,

I have a T400 and use what I think is the Thinkpad MiniDock 250410U. My wife has expressed an interest in the thinkpad line and I am searching for a refurb. I could just get a T400 again but they are hard to find, does the L series work with this dock? Anything I find in terms of compatibility is the original spec list going back years so none of the modern series are listed.

I could be mistaken about this since I don't own a "L" series machine, but I don't think they have a docking port on them at all. They are more a consumer grade ThinkPad, and as such not designed for docking.

The new L series support the new Mini-Docks (Series 3). They are exactly like the SL, but with matte screens and docking station support. None of them support the Advanced Mini-Dock (2504).

Looks like I was mistaken. Here are the part numbers for the supports docking solutions:
4336-10W ThinkPad Port Replicator Series 3
4337-10u ThinkPad Mini Dock Series 3
4338-10u ThinkPad Mini Dock Plus Series 3

Thanks, so in reality i am stuck with looking for a T400/500 or T60/61 yes?
