can't turn on my SL400

Everytime when I turn off my SL400 bought few years ago, it took forever to turn it back on - say like manually press the power on button 2 hours to turn it back on (most time it only flashes once then nothing happened) ? Now I am afraid to turn the computer off. But it need update which requires turning off the computer.

WHat should I do with that?
