ThinkPad SL510 laptops might have problem recognizing some express card devices. I bought a Ubiquiti SR71X wireless card a few months ago still I have not been able to get it to work with my laptop. I'm using Linux, tried this with more kernels (with all related packages installed). I tried to disable other built-in PCI and USB peripherals in the BIOS yet my card does not show up in lspci. On a sidenote, the same card works perfectly in my dad's older Toshiba laptop and others. Totally annoying.
My laptop ended up in a Lenovo service center with this card attached. They replaced my motherboard and eventually found out that there was nothing they could do about it and called it "incompatible device". Funny enough for a standard card with a standard chipset on a standard interface.
Is this a known problem? Have any of you experienced anything similar? I'm wondering if there are any tips you could give me to help troubleshoot this. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance
