Okay, school starts in about a month and I've been anxiously waiting since April for the T43 refresh. (When the rumors first started) ANYONE know if this will happen? I've waited 3 months and can't even start to describe how pi**ed off I'd be if it happens a week after I make a purchase.

Right now, I'm eyeing a 2668-98U, basically the best-configured T43. The only thing holding me back is the graphics card (X300). I was wondering though.... would this card be good enough to play RPG/strategy games? ie Roman Empires, Warcraft, Diablo2? I won't play games like Doom or HalfLife (I play those on my PS2) And also, does the graphics card affect streaming video quality or framerates on internet-TV?

It will have no problem with streaming video or internet TV, my 4 year old Dell can handle those. The games you mention are ancient history in terms of graphics technology and will be easy for the video card as well. (Well I'm not familiar with Roman Empires but both other games won't pose a challenge).

Yes, what you're saying is totally true.
I'd just like to know if the info on the refresh is legit. If it isn't I'll place my order today.
Is there anyone on this site with some "inside" source?

to the thread author, if you dont know, research.



i am using a radeon 9500 pro with 128mb ram on my desktop, i can even run doom and hl2 on it. my card is two years old, and i can run doom 3 and half life 2 on it. the x300 (while only 64mb) will be able to run warcraft 3, diablo 2 and etc. it is a newer chip, with a faster clock speed. it will be able to run those games fine. while the gpu ram will be less, you just might not have uber textures. the x300 is a great vid card, you wont be let down.
