ctrl+shift+esc
click the applications tab
right click on syn visual window or something like that
click on maximise
hit and hold the button that you would use to scroll, the scroll icon will replace the normal arrow icon, move the trackpoing up or down

and it's fixed untli it pops up again

There is a much easier way: Just press the blue scroll button of the ultranav/trackpoint when the white pixel shows up. You can completely disable it by uninstalling the device driver (Trackpoint and Touchpad will still work unter 2000/XP!)

Yeah, that thing is weird. I posted here about having a "semi-dead pixel" and people said "just click the middle mouse button." Bizarre.

I have a stuck pixel (red) that wasn't on the screen when it was new, 6 months ago. You mean this can be "exercised off by pressing the middle scroll button?

Well, no. This white "dead" pixel is actually just a 1x1 image artifact that pops up occasionally due to some weirdness in the ultranav driver - it's not really a dead pixel, which no amount of software can cure.

Only in Firefox?

Please see also these threads:

Does everyone of you have Firefox installed? Can we find a consistent way to reproduce this?
