hi guys,
never got to use it, went straight to acronis, due to past experience with it, but i was wondering, how long requires RnR to perform a full restore, let's say for a system of around 7 gb?
with acronis the job is done in about 7-8 min.
thanks,
dorin

A full restore? You can get to the boot screen in around 15 minutes, but it will take around 30 to 45 minutes for it to customize Windows XP after a few reboots. Those results hold even when I tried it on a X41 Tablet with the 1.8" HDD (it was a quarter full, minus the OS and HPA) and have been consistent with a good deal of other Thinkpads I have done it with.
Your choice if you want to use it or continue with Acronis.

Last time I did a full restore was from a system partition that had just over 11GB of data on it.
The compression ratio on the backup is about 2:1 and the backup takes abut 35-40 minutes. The full restore took 15-20 minutes and that was it.
I'm slightly baffled by comment that it takes another 30-45 minutes for it to customise Windows. My full restore did just that, the system was restored *EXACTLY* how it was at the time of the backup.
The only time I've ever seen anything automatically customise Windows is during the pre-load process from the recovery disks.
