Doctor Bloomquist calls for participants!

... I'm canvassing for research participants for my university dissertation. I need more Brits!
If you participate, you’ll be subject to approx. an hour (in total) of sparkling conversation with me, stretched out over a couple of weeks of emailing/msn/icq – whatever you are most comfortable with. My area of research is whether people’s attitudes to banking online have changed since the banking collapse/credit crunch/economic self-adjustment.
For a better idea of what would be involved, I’m put up a sample mini-interview here:
http://flounders-mindthots.blogspot.com ... o-for.html
I’m trying to gauge interest now so I don’t start losing sleep! If you think you’d be interested in participating, please PM me, post in this thread, or email me at the address below.
There are no right or wrong answers, the data I’m collecting are opinions, not figures. I’d also like to reassure any prospective participants that you won’t be asked for your address, phone number, bank account number, contact details for millions of Nigerian army general oil dollars, or anything else dodgy. You can find out more about what I’m hoping to achieve here:
http://flounders-mindthots.blogspot.com ... after.html
I've been a respondent myself in a fair few of these research projects in the past, and they're not that bad, honest!
My proposed sample is fairly diffuse – currently I need more UK respondents. You don't have to be using internet banking to take part – the only caveat is no children, Uni regulations.
Uni has been a long journey for me, and I’m afraid to say I suffer from the typical male hang-up of being embarrased to ask for help. The truth is I can’t reach the end without you (and my T23)!

Re: Fellow UK Thinkpadders! I need YOU!
Hi Doctor Bloomquist. Being in the UK, a Thinkpad user, and an internet banking user then I suppose I meet your requirements. I don't mind a survey or something but 'up to an hour a week' sounds like purgatory. If you were less demanding then I'd be happy to help.
As far as I am concerned the banking crisis of 2008 has been a real eye-opener to many of us. The scariest things were Icelandic banks folding like a house of cards and Lehman Bros going t!ts up. The great asset at the time was internet banking which allowed those of us who use it to empty accounts from banks that were going down the bog and relocate the funds elsewhere ... instantaneously. Marvellous ... far better than wandering around the high street trying to join a queue outside Northern Rock and waiting in the rain for 4 hours to be told to eff off.
Hopefully you catch my drift.

Re: Fellow UK Thinkpadders! I need YOU!
Thanks for expressing an interest killer! To be clear though - over the course of a week or whatever, I'm aiming to piece together approximately an hour of interviews, per participant, in total.
So 10 minutes one day, 10 minutes several days later, that kind of idea.
I'm very glad you brought this up - to reemphasise this point for anyone thinking about taking part, its around an hour of your time, all together.
If anyone has any other questions they want to clear up, do please get in touch.
Chris (aka DoctorBloomquist)
ps remember - you don't have to be using internet banking to take part. I'd still be interested in why this is the case!
