Too Hot!!!

#1 Post by steveg47 » Mon Dec 13, 2010 5:26 pm

My x100e dual core (L335) also run pretty hot. It will thermally shutdown in 8 minutes running prime95. Using TPFancontrol prevents the cpu from getting too hot but at the cost of occasionally running the fan at high speed which is noisy and decreases the battery charge life which is already marginal.

Has anyone tried pulling the heatsink/fan assembly and applying fresh thermal grease such as Arctic Silver 5 to alleviate the heat problem??
