awesome!

I've been having a hard time choosing between the x41 and the x32... this makes it even more difficult *lol*

Guess I have got time to wait a little more....

I love this. Great information. I'm definately buying one once they are released.

It's odd they call it a X41 because it doesn't have a fingerprint scanner. I'm sure they'll assign it some other model number once it's released.

Release postponed to end of June, beginning of July was the most recent date I've heard bandied about.

But apparently there is some drop-dead pressure to have this on the streets during the 4Q fiscal '04, perhaps due to the sale.

nonny,

Yep, looks like a Windows key to me. There must have been some changes in ThinkPad's enginering/designing group. :D

How many non-Windows OS's exist for tablet PCs?

Is there really a linux alternative that people will use?

If the answer is no then it makes sense to include a Windows key since that is how the vast vast majority, if not all, will be used.

C'mon guys, think before you let your MS hate blind you ;)

I wonder if this is just a tabletized T-series. That'd be awesome, I'm so in love with the T series, perfect size/performance, the X just seemed a little small to me.

From the looks of it, the unit is X-series sized.

I am wondering how sturdy the single hinge is. I'm used to having 2 pieces of stainless steel holding the machine together, so a single hinge makes me a bit nervous. No way to tell until the unit ships, I guess.

Do you really think this is going to be the size of the x41?

It looks a lot bigger in the pics...maybe an inch or two in length and width...it also looks thick...I read through all the reports of the testing...I was surprised that they didn't put the dimensions somewhere.

If it were a T series it'd probably have the trackpad.

I have less than zero interest in bashing any OS. My objections to adding another key to an already crowded keyboard are purely ergonomics and aesthetics. Look at how small it makes the space bar.

My apologies...I figured it was OS based ;)

One could just remap the windows key to act as the space bar too...i think
