Out of curiosity, why did this thread get locked? I would have liked to hear more of xcrunner51's thoughts on why/how the patents might be related to microeconomics issues.

Seems that the moderators are trying to keep anything remotely political or remotely capable of starting a big argument off of the forum, which is acceptable, but I think the Microsoft one was locked prematurely. Unless a certain user who's recently stepped into a couple of other threads to try starting crap stepped into that same one, it could be very interesting.

I do apologize if the post I made offended anyone, but I feel that in that case, my argument was appropriate and I kept it on civil terms. I was also honest enough to state my cause and intention and at least try to leave behind no hard feelings.
