Does T430s support 2560 X 1440 resolution?

#1 Post by ircfas133 » Fri Nov 16, 2012 5:31 pm

Thank to the recommendation of people on this board, I purchased a U2713HM monitor for my T430s. But right now, it only display at 1980 resolution. Just wondering how to display at the native resolution of 2560*1440 ? Is this even possible? The chip I have is Core i7 3750M with mini DisplayPort / thunderbolt port. I connect my display to the T430s first with HDMI via HDMI-Mini DP adapter.

I told you that HDMI wouldn't work. You need to adapt your mini DisplayPort to regular DisplayPort.

Hi, pianowizard, you are so right. You did mention that! Thank you for your help! My call to Dell tech support this morning was not helpful at all. They have no clue whatsoever...

Since U2713HM only has DisplayPort, and T430s only has "Mini DisplayPort/Thunderbolt", I purchased a DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort cable on Amazon. This would work right? Specifically, the stuff I get is this Accell cable.

Again, thank you!

Yes it should work. Under "Product Features", it even specifically says that its supports up to 2560x1600 for computers.
