Hello everyone,
I recently bought T60p on eBay. It came with preinstalled WinXP (+ recovery partition), so I decided to install Win7 on it. I bought Win7Pro at Amazon from MAR (MS Authorised Refurbisher). But when I try to install Windows 7, the following happens: installation starts, I choose my unallocated partition, xtraction starts and some time later (in most cases between 30 and 355) I see error message saying that Windows cannot install required file (error code 0x80070570).
I searched Internet for possible reasons. Among others SATA-problems in BIOS (I changed from AHCI to compatible - no effect), problems with RAM (RAM module from Hynix with 1 GB cause the issue - I have such one built in) and faulty DVD drive (I tried to boot from external USB drive - no effect) were mentioned. As I said, 2 of them had no effect. Can anyone tell me, how I install Win7 on T60p?
REgards from hamburg,
Andrey.

You should check to see if your BIOS is at the latest version. Updating your BIOS may solve the issue. You can make a bootable CD to update the BIOS if necessary. You'll have to determine which update is correct for your model (conventional or widescreen). You can browse the readme files for more information.

Hello,
corrupted/faulty RAM module was the reason. I removed one of 2, and everything worked fine.
Cheers,
Andrey
