Extend the warranty more than once..?

#1 Post by goji » Mon Jun 02, 2014 8:39 am

One of my Thinkpad's warranty's ending. Unfortunatly it was extended originally for Drive+ so now i'm told i can't extend anymore.. But i'm sure i've seen people reporting extending again, how did you do that?

AFAIK that was never possible. One shot is all you have for upgrading/extending warranties on ThinkPads.

If your ThinkPad for example had a 3 year warranty from the start, and you extended it to a 4 year warranty, then it would be possible to delete the old warranty extension and buy an extension for 5 years. But only if your ThinkPad is still in warranty and if the warranty isn´t 5 years long anyway.

^^^^^^

I've never heard of "deleting" an existing extension...and I've done many a warranty upgrades in my time.

I don't think Lenovo offers 5 year warranties any longer (but I would be delighted to be proved wrong).

I don´t know about the US, but here in Germany, they still do offer 5 year warranties: http://www.campuspoint.de/5ps0a23079-fl-4494.html
