Hi,
I may sound a bit strange but obviously do not want to look or sound stupid. It is just a question to understand. So my question to all of you:
Is it possible that the lcd of thinkpad t530 broke spontaneously? Without external force?
I bought thinkpad because of the roll cage. I carry it an case logic. Used it yesterday and when i took it today out of the case i found a broken LCD. There is no sign of press or damage on the outside of the lcd nor on the keyboard right below the crack. The plastic cover of the lcd is also unhurt. I do not even try to talk to Lenovo though i still have warranty. The local warranty personal told me that i had certainly lifted up the the laptop by holding it at the lcd and pressed with my thumb. If i say i had not done so, i mean it, and i do hate when some thinks i am not telling the truth. But that is another story. Of course someone could have touched it.
I just would like know if such a spontaneous crack can happen or not?
thank
regards
Andrew

broken lcd on thikpad t530
Re: broken lcd on thikpad t530
It seems everyone thinks me to be crazy...Just would like to know whether a spontanous break of the lcd can happen or not. I did not break in my hand. If a packed something heavy on it why is not any outside damage on th cover and anyway there should be a roll cage to protect. Anyone?
Re: broken lcd on thikpad t530
In my experience with ThinkPads, having owned fifty or more of various models over the years, I've never known of an LCD spontaniously cracking. I have broken a few, but only when trying to take them apart to replace the CCFL. Don't recall ever breaking one while it was still securely attached to the lid assembly. Even with fairly rough handling.
Having said that, I suppose most anything is possible, I've just not experienced it myself.
