5-row keyboards are coming ?
Have you noticed that new Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro has 5-row keyboard with no F keys at all ? It is not case of ThinkPad yet but the "Pro" tag is indicating the way Lenovo is going

Re: 5-row keyboards are coming ?
This is done to make the device thinner, because in the space above the keyboard, you have the mainboard - to fit the additonal row, they would have to make the device bigger or thicker, but that would be good as the purpose of this device is to be as thin and light as it gets^^
As you said, this is not a ThinkPad. This is a device purely focused on form over function (http://www.techradar.com/news/mobile-co ... ls-1268827).
Lenovo will continue to use the layout they have with T440s/X240/W540 currently for new ThinkPads next year. Besides bringing back the TrackPoint buttons of course.

Yes, it has. But the Surace Pro 3 keyboard cover doesn´t have any components inside, like a battery, or a mainboard. Its nothing more than a keyboard and a TouchPad cover. For the Surface Pro 3, all components are behind the screen, for the Yoga 3 Pro, they are all in the base-unit of course.
I could also say: ThinkPad Helix 2nd gen keyboard still has F-keys:

But its really pointless to compare these devices...
MOD Edit: please read the Forum Rules, specifically Section 5 about pictures!

Of course, you won´t find such statements in public - but its what I have heard so far. Also, I do have heard the Adaptive keyboard might go away since so many customers were unhappy with it.Puppy wrote:Any info about that ?

Well, what bothers me is the "Pro" tag on device providing such crippled keyboard layout.

Hm, so Lenovo is still not going to fix the broken keyboard layout. Time to buy another spare .20 refurbished modelIbthink wrote:Of course, you won´t find such statements in public - but its what I have heard so far. I see - at this point, "Pro" does nothing but indicate that its "higher end" - most likely, Lenovo will launch a Yoga 3 without the "Pro" moniker (much like Yoga 2 Pro and Yoga 2).
Also, take in consideration that they have a "Pro" device (Yoga 2 Tablet Pro) thats running Android...that tag doesn´t say much...
