Who redesigned that gawdawful Lenovo Forum?
Looking for some Thinkpad info on Google this morning, I stumbled upon the Lenovo forum.
I normally never go on that forum, because I don't like it to begin with.
But some eejit redesigned that forum to make it look even worse than it already was!
It looks utterly junked up and the waste of space for select-buttons and silly flashing pictures is incredible!

Yeah no kidding, it is a very "busy" design (despite ironically trying to be minimalist) with little indication of when something begins or ends.
It looks like Lenovo contracted "Lithium" to do the work, I was curious myself and took a peek at the source code:
On Lithium's site they boast of working for many other clients including McDonald's and Electronic Arts:
http://www.lithium.com/powered-by-lithium
EDIT: although that looks more like social marketing software. There may be more clues in the source code but I only took a quick glance since it's absolutely messy being generated by a bunch of software.

I have already complained https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Forum-Hous ... -p/2116799
It has always been the Lithium forum software, it is just a new "better" skin.

On my 1366x768 display the unused space on both sides add up to around 20% of the screen width. Is it fixed-width to 1024 pixels or something?

It is nothing compared to actual redesign
Is that a hi-dpi or permanent mobile theme ?

Holy cow! If that is indicative of the (re)design of the elusive Retro-ThinkPad, then please have mercy on us...
What sort of a bungling idiot have they hired to produce such crap?
Since I rarely can be bothered to even look at the drivel that is usually written there, I might not have noticed it for another month or so...

Oh no...
I was just there the other day checking information about the T440p panel upgrading and I didn't mind the layout, sort of liked it.
Now it just looks awful, I can't tell when a post ends or begins...

Re: Who redesigned that gawdawful Lenovo Forum?
I have a variety of issues with the Lenovo Forum, and I seldom go there, but I just checked it out to take a look at these latest design changes and I don't think I'm seeing the same things that you folks are.
It looks pretty usable to me. If anything, I'd say it's an improvement over what was there before. And among other things, I notice that you can control a variety of forum display settings in your preferences now.
Maybe some of you folks were viewing it when it was still in the process of being updated? Or you have set your reading preferences to "linear" instead of the default of "topics"? I don't know. Honestly, it looks okay to me, and I don't get where the vitriol over the latest design update is coming from. There are lots of other things to be vitriolic with Lenovo about!
