WTB: 701c parts(Screen assembly, battery etc.)
I recently just bought a nice condition 701c on eBay for 65$. For a working unit it was a steal but it has a cracked hinge on it making it a bit useless. In my experimenting, I accidentally cracked the upper keyboard cover as well. My model is a 5TU 75MHz with the screen close to the upper edge. Also, I would like a battery but not necessary because I want to refurbish it and possibly make 3D printed reproductions.

The efficiency of two screens equally sized with equal numbers if pixels are equal. The time spent by a 4:3 user complaining about 16:9 is proportional to the inefficiency working with a 16:9 display, therefore the amount of useful work extracted is equal.

So which exact parts did you need? I have several dead batteries and about any case parts but no working display panels. I do have lots of screen hinges.

The parts that I need are the upper keyboard cover. The piece that covers the keyboard and the hinges with the IBM logo on it. The other main part is the screen assembly. My screen is working perfectly so one with a broken screen is OK. All other parts are good. What do you have in the way of parts?

I have some upper keyboard covers but not sure I have one in perfect condition. I have to admit cracking a couple over the years myself. I will have a complete screen assembly with hinges as long as you have the right bezel. Nut it would help to see a picture because as you have figured out there is more than one type of screen housing and bezel.

I can get a few pictures of it in the morning. The LCD is very close to the top of the unit, and the 701C text is placed on the bezel, not near the microphone. For the upper cover, cracks are not a big deal, at least it`s in 8 pieces like mine, hopefully.
I kind of cracked it not knowing how to disassemble it

I am sure I can help you if you are not looking for perfection. We might want to move this over to PM conversations. I will have some time this weekend to check what I have.

I put the pic sizes to around <50KB
Also, I sent a PM.
