Can't get Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200BG WIfi working on ThinkPad T43

My Thinkpad T43 has a Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200BG card and I need to get it working in WIndows 7 32 bit... It works perfectly in Ubuntu 12.04 - can connect without issues.

But in WIndows 7, it can see a bunch of networks and I can try to connect to one and enter a password... but it won't connect. It just fails to connect each time. I figured it was a driver issue - I've tried the version that comes with WIndows 7, I've tried the Vista 32 bit version, I've fiddled with settings. But I think oother people have managed to get it working straight away.

I have the same card and i have problems with the public ones (either no password protection or log in with an account) in Windows 7. I recall many of mine and many of my friends Windows 7 laptop have the same problem with those wifi. Somehow mysteriously, upgrading to Windows 10 on my T43 machines and the problem vanished!

I don't think they managed to remove the Wifi whitelist on this model.

The modified BIOSes there remove both the wifi whitelist and the annoying Error 2010 that appears when a non-Thinkpad HDD is installed.

Indeed. I have been using TP Link "n" cards on my T43/p units for years now.

NOTE!

On the R32, T43, X41, X60, W500, X230 and probably others, the BIOS hacks and the "no-1802" utility don't work.

Might give it a try. Can't even get the card working in Windows XP enough to connect to a WPA2 Wifi network.
