Yes Sony Vegas 13 prefers cuda instead of opencl for rendering videos I've tried an AMD rx 480 and rendering times increased and with a newer Nvidia card they increased even longer... The best GPU to use is the 6000 series AMD cards so i picked this up.. no thinkpad ever came with the correct Nvidia cards (GTX 600 series?) so couldn't get a Thinkpad (but Nvidia cards are slower anyways for this program) and besides the macbook pro 15 2011 this is one of the only laptops i could find with AMD 6000 series graphics as they are not commonCrazyTPFan wrote:How come you don't use your T440p for video editing? It has better specs than the 8460p or, does the program you use for editing need AMD graphics?
I see, Sony Vegas 13 renders faster with AMD 6000 series cards. I've always wanted to try out an Elitebook 8460p. They seem like nice laptops.Whitieiii wrote: ↑Mon Dec 03, 2018 5:51 pmYes Sony Vegas 13 prefers cuda instead of opencl for rendering videos I've tried an AMD rx 480 and rendering times increased and with a newer Nvidia card they increased even longer... Since it's an almost maxed out it works pretty good... I wanted to put the 8460w motherboard in it but I didn't know if the firepro M3900 would work the fastest or even the best but mine has a quad core i7-2720qm second gen and amd 6470M 1GB with 1366x768 display although i may put in a 1600x900 screen soon mine also has windows 7... I don't export higher than 480p since it would take me longer than overnight to upload to anywhere online since my upload speed is only 500kbps absolute maxCrazyTPFan wrote:@Whitieiii How fast does the laptop perform when editing? and what resoloution do you edit with on this laptop?
No not yet but I will and also will have a Twitch.tv account.. I've gotta get my new internet up and going.. DSL sucks.. I'm going with Verizon unlimited prepaid jetpack for my new internet with my custom router and antenna setup.. it really the only way to get better internet hereCrazyTPFan wrote:@Whitieiii do you have a YouTube channel?
