Hey gang -
I recently picked up a T430 on ebay. 2344-BPU, in mint condition. 8g, 128g SSD, Win10 Pro. WWAN-ready - no card, but antenna wires are present.
I bought, from newegg.com, the Sierra MC7700. It came in a sealed box with a Lenovo label, and a brand new sim card. Installed the card and the sim card. Installed the driver package from the Lenovo site (g7w413ww.exe for Win10). Drivers installed successfully, but the card does not show up in device mgr.
After much playing around with other stuff in Win10, I decided to yank the SSD & replace it with a hard drive & install Windows 7 Pro. Installed the driver package from the Lenovo site (g1w404ww.exe for Win7). Drivers installed successfully, but, again, the card does not show up in device mgr. Downloaded & tried to run Lenovo's LMBA, but it says "there is not a supported wireless wan card installed". There are no "unknowns" in Dev Mgr, and no error messages when booting. Everything else works just fine.
This WWAN card is supposedly supported for the T430, but I'm having no success with it.
Here's the info on the card:
p/n on box: 0A36320, p/n on card: 0B42410, FRU on card: 04W42410, EC: 357608, Header code: VQ237
Planar board p/n: 0B56240
BIOS: 2.76
Of course, I have no way to tell if the card is defective, as I don't have anyplace else to plug it in. Same for the slot - nothing else to plug in to test.
Hope someone here can help. I'd like to see this work, it'd be a lot more convenient when traveling than the USB-attached air card that I currently use on my T60.
Chris

Re: T430 WWAN install problem
Is WWAN enabled in the BIOS?
Under Security / IO Pot Access.

Re: T430 WWAN install problem
Yes, it's enabled. I had previously checked that. Also tried disable/enable, and reset to defaults. None of which fixed anything. Thanks!
