I've recently acquired a X330 from Jacky. I'm willing to answer any questions the community has about it.

Specs: i5-3320M, 8GB RAM, 128GB Kingston A400, FHD 13" Samsung Display.

What exactly is changed compared to a standard X230? It's more than just the screen and matching bezel, isn't it?

They have figured out how to add a second mSATA slot and some of the X320/X330 mods include that mod.

Besides the obvious, the laptop is now hijacking the Dock DisplayPort and the physical parts of the Lid have been altered.

They have figured out how to add a second mSATA slot and some of the X320/X330 mods include that mod.

My model has the optional mSATA 3+USB 3 board that occupies the ExpressCard slot, but isn't using the expresscard interface. There's also a nifty internal USB 2 Slot in there that is completely undocumented.

How about a tiny microSD card adapter and one of those new fancy 1TB SD cards. So 7.68TB SSD in the main bay, 1TB on each of the two mSATA slots, and 1TB on the SD card. Yeah I *totally* needed 10TB of storage in a laptop .

Yep, it's taking DP#2.

I can only help you with the X330, but communication is... Bizzare at best. There's only a tiny window to respond every day, and it took me a couple of days just to get the order down.

Yes, if one of them is VGA. Since DP#2 is used for the internal screen now, you can only use DP#1 + VGA on the dock.

can you plug an external monitor to the x330 with the FHD mod, since they take one DP to install the new screen ? Is the external monitor with VGA or DP ?

This question was already answered. These mods "steal" Dock DP#2. The laptop DP and Dock DP#1 are not affected. The only functionality that you lose is the ability to connect two external DP/DVI monitors via the docking station.

You can actually get 2TB mSATA SSDs Just have to get the 2TB Samsung T5 and strip it.
