X60 Wifi Cards?

#1 Post by Geartooth » Sun Jun 17, 2018 5:05 am

Could I salvage a Wifi Card from a X200 to replace my overheating X60 Wifi Card? I have plenty of them lying around.

Probably so, but quite likely that a modded BIOS with a whitelist removal will be required (such BIOS does exist).

Can I disable the Wifi Card, instead of using it, I plug in a Wifi dongle for wifi connection. Thank you.

Yes you can. Just flick the wireless switch to the "off" position or disable it in BIOS if you prefer.

Can I just disable the Wifi Card under "Device Manager" ? I hope this could solve the heating issue. I already ordered a refurbished X60 and its on the way, Im feeling very excited for the moment.

If heat is what concerns you, I'd remove the card altogether. But yes, you can disable it in Device Manager.
