Middleton BIOS fail
Middleton BIOS fail
so, here I was today cleaning an old T61 14' wide, i decided to apply the middleton bios.
all went well, didnt brick the thing, i restart and .... nothing, still 3 GB usable
funny thing, in the bios the system saw the 8 gigs with its original February 2008 bios, also inside windows in properties it saw it was 8 gigs but only 3 usable, but even after the bios update that didnt change, still 3 GB usable
am I missing something?

Re: Middleton BIOS fail
You probably run a 32-bit OS, install a 64-bit OS instead and you can use all 8GB.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
But I actually prefer Murphy's from Cork!

Re: Middleton BIOS fail
facepalm moment, of course I was,
I had the 32 bit win 7 in order to safely install the middleton bios, but I forgot to reinstall the 64 bit windows,
thanks dude

Re: Middleton BIOS fail
On the contrary, it provides very pertinent information for somebody who has made the same mistake as you.
And it also reminds us, when we make a silly mistake, that we are not alone. Far from it.
Re: Middleton BIOS fail
This.
Apart from that, you actually do not need Middleton to see 8gigs of RAM in your system
Too many thinkpads not enough time!
