Keyboard backlight T61

Hi!
Is there a keyboard on the T61 with built-in backlight? (not a flashlight in the top cover)
Maybe someone bought and installed it?
Or had the experience of installing your own backlight in the keyboard?
I would appreciate the help

Nope, not this type of keyboard.
I remember seeing a failed effort to install one somewhere on the Chineese forum.

I guess this is a "dreamt feature"?

4by3 now THAT is an interesting trick.. have you done it..? finding just the right device might be tricky..

The only keyboard that has :
[*] same connector as the T61, and
[*] backlight

is the one from the T430/530, X230 and W530. Problem is:
[*] its keyswitch matrix is not 100% compatible with the T61
[*] the mounting points are completely different

And trying to make the backlight work without burning some component in the system board is going to be an interesting challenge.

I see two challenges:
[*] finding a UV LED of the same size as the Thinklight LED.
[*] soldering said LED without melting/burning the flex cable.

I have not but given just about anything in the light-grey to white will glow brightly under a blacklight, I'd figure its work a shot.

so just fine some IR device, power it up and point it at the keyboard and see if it will light the white up..
to prove the concept.. that is how i would proceed..
THEN see if a device can be found to replace the thinklight device..
have no idea what the structure surrounding he thinklight looks like thts about all i have to contribute..

I did exactly this after I found my UV light source. Sadly, both my T420 keyboards and X61 keyboards were completely unreactive. Surprisingly, my TP 755C keyboard lit up like a christmas tree under a UV lamp.
