Bluetooth "license check failed" error message X200
Bluetooth "license check failed" error message X200
My X200 just coughed up the subject message. It suggested that I check the license to see if it has expired...Can anyone tell me how to do that?
Batteries are new and the keyboard joystick moves the cursor just fine.
Any help would be much appreciated

Messing around too much lately with Windows updates?
I suggest to download these BT drivers: https://archive.org/details/BlueSoleil6.4.249
Then uninstall the 'old' BT drivers and install the BlueSoleil drivers instead.

Re: Bluetooth "license check failed" error message X200
I downloaded the file but there is no english readme file or other instructions and it's not clear to me how to actually install the drivers. The file contained 1 folder: VT_BlueSoleil_6.4.249.0 and 3 files: ActivationTool.exe, keygen.exe, and شرح التفعيل.doc which I was unable to read.
I have never installed anything that required the use of these files and I don't want to make assumptions that wind up screwing up my system. If you could explain the process on a windows dummy level that would be great, otherwise I'll keep trying.
thanks again for the reply

I can't read Arabic either.
What OS does the X200 have, I assume W7?
See if this helps: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-X ... 227#M30552

I would be cautious of what obviously looks like cracked software, especially if you can't read the documentation. Stick to official drivers.

Re: Bluetooth "license check failed" error message X200
The X200 has the original XP with all of the updates that were released at the time. My expertise is with desktops which I build for myself. The X200 is the first and only laptop I ever bought. I fire it up every month or two to charge the battery and verify that everything is working OK. I did image the hard drive, installed an Intel SSD, and re-imaged it with the HD image and doubled the memory a year or so ago and have experienced zero problems since then. I didn't make any measurements but it changed it from painfully slow to acceptably usable. The only time it gets any real use is when I'm doing something that takes the desktop off line. The last time I turned it on was the first of October and everything worked fine so I'm kinda reluctant to blame the drivers at this point and I'm reluctant to screw around with laptop drivers anyhow for fear of breaking the custom Lenovo function keys. The mouse is a Lenovo Bluetooth device. I have a spare and it did not fix the problem.
My basic problem is that I know nothing about Bluetooth or of any troubleshooting techniques...I don't even know what a Bluetooth license is or does.
I appreciate all the feedback...maybe someone will come along who has actually experienced this problem and got it resolved.
