I last bought a new Thinkpad in 2007, via the US IBM EPP. I vaguely remember seeing a list of pre-configured laptops that I needed to choose from, and I ended up buying one that was half of the price on the regular website.
I am looking to buy a new Thinkpad P series and the P52 is the only model available (don't want P1, P52s, P7X). However, when I check on the US IBM EPP site, it only gives you a discount on the base model and that too is only about $200 lower than the regular price.
What happened?! Doesn't Lenovo give the same level of discounts that IBM used to? Or am I doing something wrong?
