I got this from a reseller...he claims that it's a good deal? Is it? Thanks!

That's basically IBM's top of the line product...shy of the 2.0ghz laptops which aren't really readily available yet. Anyway, IBM's online list price is 3949 (before tax). So the discount you're getting is ~10%. It's not a bad discount, but it isn't stellar either.

But honestly, unless you really need all that stuff, I might try one of the middle-range models (like the 1.7ghz pieces)...while you may lose a few performance points, you'll save $1000 in the process.

Well, sounds like a good deal. IBM's list price for this model is $3949. You can also email Bill (our host, bill@thinkpads.com) for a price quote. As far as I know he gives 10% discount for 2373 models.
