T60 - wifi card whitelist

Recently acquired T60 and am setting it up with Linux Mint. Everything ok but I want to swap out the wifi card for one that's "N" capable. The existing is an Intel card w/ 2 antenna wires.

Online forum posts hint that some Atheros cards might work with stock BIOS without triggering the 1802 error message. I can't find anything definitive online. Can someone please comment?

There is an Atheros-chipped card capable of working in the N range, FRU is 42T0825. These were shipped on some T60/p units.

Zender BIOS, OTOH, will enable the use of all other cards and a couple of additional goodies...

There is another BIOS that not only removes the whitelist, but also puts the W7 SLIC 2.1 table in the BIOS. I can't remember the thread. I need to find it for a T60 I recently got.

Thanks for the reminder link RBS. If I remember correctly the same person(s) has a T43 and probably a T40/41/42 BIOS with similar benefits.
