X200 UltraBase - Distorted speakers?

#1 Post by Fierelier » Wed Sep 01, 2021 5:17 am

Heya everyone.

Having an issue with my X200 UltraBase. Lows and mids seem quite distorted, without a lot of volume either. Is this normal? I have been thinking about taking apart the dock, adding some padding to the speakers perhaps, to dampen the vibration or something. Would that be difficult to do? Would it even make sense? I do have dedicated speakers so this isn't super critical, it would just be nice if it worked better.

It's possible that the diaphragm of the speakers have degraded due to age.

Alright, thank you. May just be a placebo but it might have gotten a little better just by using it, so I will probably just leave it as-is, maybe I can find the frequency and EQ it out, thinking it could actually just be something pretty low frequency causing it, because a lot of audio seems fine.
