BOE HYDIS HV150UX2-100 Ghosting (with video link)
BOE HYDIS HV150UX2-100 Ghosting (with video link)
Hello guys, this is my first time posting on the forums.
I've built myself my first T601P Frankenpad with the BOE HYDIS HV150UX2-100 UXGA panel. On first impression, it is wonderfully bright but upon further use there's an annoying amount of ghosting with this screen when scrolling web pages or playing games. I've searched the forums and asked RBS about this issue and no one has talked about this panel having bad ghosting. I've included a short 16 second video clip comparing this screen to an XGA CCFL TN panel (N150X3-L0A). https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LDFdbE ... sp=sharing
I'm wondering if this is normal for this screen or if there's some kind of problem on my end. I've bought 3 of these BOE HYDIS screens from a US seller on ebay and they all ghost. The other thing it could be is the modded cable that RBS did himself. RBS did suggest cleaning the contacts of the cable but it didn't make a difference.
Any insight into this would be mighty helpful, thank you.

What GPU does your Frankie have?
OT but FYI: since 07 Sep 21 your package is still floating in space...

It has a 256MB Quadro FX570M, I installed a 42W7653 15.4 inch widescreen T61P board in there and I know it's not a safe date one. I've tried this screen with an NVS 140M board and the Mobility Radeon X1300 and X1400 boards from T60's and the ghosting persists.
Hopefully the package is still on its way but hasn't been scanned or something.

Update: 18th of November 2021
I have purchased and received a second modded cable from RBS (thank you again by the way), hooked it up and the ghosting still persists. Either the 3 BOE Hydis screens I have are defective or this is just normal behaviour.
On Panelook it lists the pixel response time as 45ms both for changing from white pixels to black pixels and black pixels to white pixels. The screen I replaced was an LG Philips LP150E05 A2-K1 which is listed as having a 25ms pixel response time and does ghost a little bit. The N150X3-L0A TN panel has a response time of 11ms from white to black then 5ms from black to white which results in no visible ghosting. Could this be the reason?

I asked Sebileis about this and he sent me a recording of the same model boe hydis panel he owns and the ghosting looks like it matches up to mine, so I guess this is normal behaviour.

Really surprised about that ghosting.
I "went through" about 80 of those and have never seen any ghosting.
Furthermore, those screens are -among others- used in the Boeing Dreamliner cockpit.
I doubt that the aircraft industry would use screens with such problems.
Maybe there was a bad batch at one time and you got your screens from there?

I'd like to believe that these screens don't ghost but so far I haven't seen one that doesn't. If anyone that has one in their Frankenpads that could drag a dark window with white text around to test for ghosting I'd like to see the results.
