Decent Browser for T4x

Hello Thinkpals

Although older version of Firefox is doing fine on
my T42, are there other browsers that are light and
adequate for ordinary tasks?

I use Firefox on my T43, but to answer your question, yes, there are other light web browsers. There are plenty of sites listing what the authors consider the best web browsers... https://www.alphr.com/lightest-web-browsers/

However, just keep in mind, that it's not so much the browser that makes these old computers drag around the web. Primarily it's the web content (i.e. adverting) that slows things down. But, even with all the tweaks, a single core CPU just is not going to be speedy these days.

On Win7 and later I use Flashpeak Slimjet. It is Chromium-based, but is not Chrome. Seems to be a bit faster, and more respectful of privacy. Even includes its own ad-blocker (although I still install uBlock Origin).
