Quad-core T60 mod

Hello ThinkPad forum! I'm looking for a librebootable T60 online, and I have found one that seems promising; but I'm not sure if it fits my requirements. It has no Lenovo branding, which is good, but it also has a 32-bit CPU. I need at least a 64-bit CPU, but I would also like to be able to quad-core mod this laptop. However, I don't know what quad-core CPUs, if any, will work with it. The model is 1953-D7U. Thanks for the help!

Welcome to the forum!

The fastest CPU that any T60 will take is a T7600 which is a Core 2 Duo. It can't be modded to accept any newer CPUs.

These are the factory specs of the system you're looking at:

T2300(1.66GHz), 512MB RAM, 60GB 5400rpm HD, 15in 1024x768 LCD, Intel 950, CDRW/DVD, Intel 802.11abg wireless, Modem, 1Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, Secure chip, Fingerprint reader, 6c Li-Ion batt, WinXP Pro
