Have a Samsung 980 1TB PCIe 3.0 fitted and considering upgrading to Samsung 990 Pro PCIe 4.0
Does my X13 Gen 1 support PCIe 4.0 for the increased speeds?
(and wow, so few posts in this sub-forum - does no-one buy these?!)

X13 Gen 1 HDD upgrade
Re: X13 Gen 1 HDD upgrade
No, though if it did, I doubt there'd be a noticeable difference.

Re: X13 Gen 1 HDD upgrade
My T14s G3 came with a P9MA1 drive, which is the OEM version of the 980 PRO and I think it consumes way too much power.
I replaced it with a SK Hynix Gold P31, which is the model I use on all my machines. It's fast enough and it has a reputation of being quite energy efficient.
So you can't really upgrade for performance but you can still upgrade for battery life.

Our crew around here is getting old and quite set to their ways. We need younger folks around here...

Why is my P1 Gen 7 so much better on battery? Cool, quiet, fast — but not on AC.
