Can the power supply that comes with the Ultra Dock 40A2 be used as a power supply for the w541 itself?

#1 Post by t61p_user » Sun Jul 07, 2024 3:05 pm

Hi, I recently bought a w541 and am now thinking about buying the 40A2 Ultra Dock (more precisely the 170W variant), and I've been wondering if the power supply that comes with it works as a power supply for the w541 itself, but haven't been able to find anything about it on the internet so far.
I'd appreciate if any of you all could tell me whether it does.

Thanks a lot for the help in advance \:)

There is only 1 Ultra Dock 40A2 version, and it can use any 90W/135W/170W charger.
W540/W541 can take either 135W or 170W.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
But I actually prefer Murphy's from Cork!

Alright, so If I understand correctly, that means that If I buy a 40A2 Ultra Dock that comes with the 170W power supply, I can use that same power supply on the w541/w540 , right?
Conversely, that should mean that if I buy a 40A2 Ultra Dock without a power supply, and already have a 170W power supply for the w541/w540 , I could use that same 170W power supply for the 40A2 Ultra dock, right?

Thanks for your time again.
