Thinkpad A31/P - Moving stickers between chasis
Thinkpad A31/P - Moving stickers between chasis
I got my hands on an A31P in pretty rough shape and a donor A31 with an immaculate case.
Simple question: Is it possible to move the bottom sticker from one case to another without ruining it and having it look semi-factory when done? If so any recommendations on how to do this? Heat gun and patience?

Thanks!

I would try the heat gun, but very gently.

The result will be 1 or both machines with an incorrect MTM/Type.

RBS...
Could he not use the Service Diskette to change both the Type and S/N to match the new sticker?
(Been awhile since I dug out my service diskettes to see if this is possible with the A3x series!)
Regards.

Yes you can, but the motherboard will still have the wrong MTM from what it SHOULD be.
OTOH one of them will be 'souped up'.
