Loose USB-C Power connection problem

#1 Post by Thinkpad2024 » Thu May 01, 2025 3:29 pm

I have a T14 Gen2. The socket that the USB-C charging cable plugs into has a problem. It only intermittently works with 2 different Lenovo brand chargers. The only way I can reliably charge it is with a Lenovo power bank. The USB-C connector on the power bank fits more snugly than the two power adapters so I assume this is a hardware problem with the socket on the motherboard. I've read of similar problems on other forums. My laptop is out of warranty. Before I pay someone to repair this, is there any other way to charge a T14? It looks like there's only one USB-C connection. Any other options besides a repair?

You can also use the USB-C slot from the docking-port next to the 'regular' USB-C slot.
Also, a magnetic adapter might help.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
But I actually prefer Murphy's from Cork!

Thanks! I didn't know that was a USB-C connector
