T420 disconnects from wifi

random disconnects in win 7 - has anyone experienced this ? there were no matches when i searched the forum
have installed intel proset wifi

Wifi cards like 6250-N or 6300-N do not have eternal life...
Wifi-N is also getting a bit outdated, maybe look at wifi-6, such as MPE-AX3000H.

i bought the T420 in 2016 new and until late 2023 only used it randomly with battery - i don't see how the wifi card gave out
it seems to me you have a tendency to always pick the worst case scenario

for starters i reinstalled the driver - if it persists i will look the wifi-N

It is not always (lack of) usage, quite often it is ageing that causes the problem.

Electronic components like capacitors, diodes, etc. go out-of-spec with age. Electrolytic caps drying out, tantalum caps blowing up, that sort of thing.
