what kind of dead pixel is this?
what kind of dead pixel is this?
One of our TP here @ work has a dead pixel..
It is a blue dot and it really only shows brightly when overlayed with a black screen.
Can someone confirm that this is a dead pixel?
Is there a way to fix it? It's only one...so far..
TIA

That's actually a stuck pixel, a dead pixel is when a pixel is perminatlely shut off. A stuck pixel is a pixel that is permanently in the on position. Dead pixels are usually hopeless. Stuck pixels have a slighty better chance of comming back to working condition. This chance of fixing the pixel is largely a matter of luck though. So don't get your hopes to high.
The two possible fix methods I've seen are 1.) rubbing the pixel with your finger or a soft micro-fiber cloth; being extra careful not to crack or scratch the LCD. 2.) Using a program/video that generates rapid flashes using the primary colors. (link*)
*The link above takes you to a page on www.psp-vault.com, where you can download an MP4 video titled the "Stuck Pixel Fixer." The file is saved as a zip, you'll need to uncompress it and play it using a MP4 compatible player such as VideoLAN Media Player which is free to download and contains no spyware or adware.

Re: what kind of dead pixel is this?
Technically this is a stuck subpixel. Each pixel is made up of 3 subpixels; 1 red, 1 blue, and 1 green.snowdog wrote:One of our TP here @ work has a dead pixel..
