"Copy your hard drive" software... really works?
"Copy your hard drive" software... really works?
One of my computers has an old, slow 5GB drive in it. I have a faster 40GB drive just sitting here. I'd like to simply copy everything over to the new drive (including the OS) and use it instead.
I think I've read on this board about software that copies ("images"?) your whole hard drive...??? Does this software really exist, and will it copy over everything, including the hidden and system files? If so, which software is recommended? Thanks!

i downloaded the free trial version to fool around with, and the program looks great. one problem though- I don't know how to hook up the second drive in order to be able to make any of the features work. I have an external USB enclosure for the new drive but can't figure out how to get the computer to recognize it. any suggestions?
another plug for Acronis True Image. I was able to move everything off my old 4GB HDD and onto a new 20GB one (that is as much space as I think my dad needs on this 380z). Had to make some kind of master book disk in order to have it work, but work it does, and Acronis obvioulsly also helped my computer override the BIOS limitation on drive size. I used the trial version and will be buying the program for the future!
