When do you get billed when ordering from IBM?

I was wondering - does your card get billed when you order, when they send or when you receive?

When they ship the order, but they may "pre-authorize" before then.

I believe that credit card companies allow merchants to bill customers only after the product ships. However, the merchant may 'pre-authorize' (basically let the credit card company know that you put an order for a product selling for x amount of money).

A "hold" for the amount of the laptop has been put on my card on the day I ordered my machine.
